Terms of Service

1. Provider and contact

2. What the service provides

GuruScribe converts audio and video into text and can separate speakers, produce summaries and provide exports. Processing is automated. Review results against the source before relying on them, especially for medical, legal, employment or other consequential decisions. Speaker labels are estimates, not identity verification. These limitations do not remove your statutory rights concerning defective services.

You need a supported browser, an internet connection and a supported file or accessible download link. Keep your original recording and export important results. We do not provide archival storage of source recordings.

3. Your account, guest access and content

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract, or use the service through a person authorised to contract for you. Business users must have authority to represent their organisation. Protect your login, API keys and guest access key. Guest access is stored in your browser; clearing browser storage or switching browsers can remove access. Contact support if this happens.

Upload only material you are entitled to process. You are responsible for lawful recording, any required notices or permissions, copyright and the rights of people in recordings. Do not upload unlawful content or use the service to bypass access controls. Do not send highly sensitive or regulated information unless appropriate legal and security arrangements have first been agreed.

You retain your rights in uploads and results. You grant us only the permission needed to host, process and deliver your requested results and resolve support or security issues. Uploads are not used to train models. Transcription and summary generation run on infrastructure operated for GuruScribe, without third-party AI inference services.

4. Plans, usage and payment

The pricing screen describes the selected plan, included minutes, renewal period and limits. Student is a non-expiring package of minutes; Sensei and Guru are time-limited plans with daily allowances as shown at purchase. PayPal purchases are one-time payments: they do not create automatic recurring billing. Starting another paid period requires another purchase.

Guests receive up to 15 free minutes per UTC day, shared by public IP where it can be determined, otherwise by browser guest key. A file receives its free allocation once. Time beyond an allowance is a separate purchase, rounded up to a whole minute, with a minimum charge equivalent to USD 1. Regional coefficients and currency conversion apply; the actual amount and settlement currency are displayed before payment. Unsupported local currencies are settled in EUR. Your payment provider may apply its own conversion or charges.

API credit is separate from website plan minutes and file-unlocking purchases. API top-ups start at USD 5. API usage is charged proportionally to duration at the rates in the API documentation; optional features add to the processing rate. Promotional credit is not a cash deposit and cannot be withdrawn as cash. This does not restrict refunds of money you actually paid where required by law.

Check the price, currency, limits and order details before confirming. Payment is processed by PayPal; we do not collect full card details. Paid access or credit is provided following confirmed payment. An unconfirmed or cancelled payment does not itself grant paid access. Save your order confirmation and contact us if a completed payment is not reflected in the service.

5. Files and retention

Source audio/video files are deleted after 24 hours from upload. Reprocessing is available within that period, subject to the features and limits shown in the interface. After deletion, reprocessing requires uploading the original again.

The 24-hour source-file rule does not mean that transcripts, summaries, account records or payment records are deleted at the same time. Saved results are retained to provide your history and access; you can remove a result from the interface and request erasure from support. The Privacy Policy explains retention criteria and statutory exceptions.

6. Withdrawal, refunds and complaints

The Refunds and Withdrawal page forms part of these terms. Consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance service contract, subject to applicable law. Merely uploading, paying or accepting these terms is not a blanket waiver of that right. We rely on an immediate-performance exception or a proportionate charge only where its legal requirements, including any separate express request, acknowledgement and confirmation, have been met.

Contact info@guruscribe.ai for failed processing, duplicate charges, inaccurate billing or other complaints. A disclaimer about automated accuracy does not exclude rights to conformity, correction, price reduction or termination under applicable consumer law.

7. Suspension, changes and responsibility

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, unlawful use, security incidents or a material breach. Where lawful and practical, we explain the reason and allow you to resolve the issue. Contact support to challenge a restriction. Suspension does not automatically forfeit statutory refunds or data-access rights.

We may update the service and these terms. Material changes will be communicated before they affect an existing paid contract where required; we will not retroactively increase the price of a confirmed purchase. Changes cannot remove mandatory rights. Responsibility for fraud, intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, personal injury or other matters that cannot lawfully be excluded remains unaffected.

8. Applicable law and disputes

Serbian law governs these terms. If you are an EU consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections of the law of your habitual residence where applicable. It does not require you to give up a court or remedy available under mandatory jurisdiction rules. Contact us first if you wish, but this is not a condition for exercising statutory rights.

For Serbian consumers, out-of-court consumer dispute resolution is available through the competent bodies listed by the Serbian ministry responsible for consumer protection, following the required prior complaint to the trader. We participate where required by law. EU consumers can seek help from their competent national consumer authority. These terms do not impose mandatory private arbitration.
